SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY
of  Vinogradov Institute of Geochemistry

The main scientific field of the Institute research is fundamental and applied studies in the Earth’s science in terms of the priority studies of RAS and initiative projects, approved by the Scientific Council of the Institute.

Major research areas:

– structure of the Earth’s, its dynamics and evolution of geological and geochemical processes: chemical geodynamics, magmatism, metamorphism and ore formation in different geodynamic settings;

– geochemistry, petrogenesis and ore potential of magmatic, metamorphic and post-magmatic systems and physical-chemical modeling;

– global changes of environment and climate: environmental geochemistry, analytical control and paleoclimatology;

– production of new materials for solid state electronics, medicine and ecology.

The Institute pursues studies in terms of the following programs and grants:

– grants of the President of Russian Federation;

– fundamental studies of Presidium of RAS and SB RAS;

– Russian Foundation for Basic Research and other Russian and International Funds;

In addition the Institute is actively involved into the center for collective use named as “Baikal Analytical Center”, rending scientific services to other institutes of SB RAS and Universities of the Eastern Siberia to study chemical, biological substances and natural and synthetic materials using newly purchased up-to-date equipment.
